Sustainably Grown Using Biodynamic Practices

Located in the picturesque King Valley, King River Estate was established in 1990 when Trevor Knaggs and father Colin planted the first vines on the Estate.

Traditional French varieties were planted first but now there are also alternative varieties such as:

Vermentino, LagreinSagrantino and Saperavi.

The vineyard is managed using biodynamic practices which makes the estate sustainable and preserves the land for future generations. In the winery we also use minimal intervention in the wine making process such as using wild yeast (natural ferments), which allows the wine to show its true personality.

Biodynamic agriculture is a method of farming that emphasizes the holistic development and the interrelating relationships of the soil, plants and the animals as a self sustaining system.  It excludes the use of artificial chemicals on soils and plants.
